Joe Makes an A

In other Joe news, we can report that Our Hero can write the letter A--!!!!! Now that he is in the Super Big Boy Pre-C room, we don't get written reports of his daily doings and, sadly, the white board on which the class' daily doings are to be noted is not always updated in a timely fashion. Each child has a folder into which goes his or her art projects and other assorted scribbles. We picked up a sheaf of things from it last week and in going through it, saw a sheet with capital As on it for tracing, and saw that one had been traced pretty well. Julie asked Joe at dinner if he could make an A. He promptly replied, "A for April," which is a decidedly indeterminate response, but a few days later, when we were drawing, he drew an A! (What you are looking for here on the bright neon green paper, Dear Readers, is the sort of faint purple line up the left side, and the equally faint curve down to the right from it's top, with the then confident crossbar.) A for awesome!

  1. Is this the first official letter, or are we adding A to an existing repertoire?

  2. This is the first official--and recognizable--letter of which we know. Js have been claimed, but no one would recognize them as such. Os do not count, though he draws a very fine circle now. He also can draw the number one. ;)
