Wind-ing and Ranging

On the way to pick up Joe and Clara this evening, we were discussing the funny things Joe says. Like the other night, when Julie and Joe were out in the front yard while Ted was giving Clara her bath, and Joe, spying the neighbors' flag said it was "wind-ing." Julie said the flag was blowing in the wind, and Joe looked right at her and said, "It's wind-ing."

Once we were all in the car and headed home tonight, we were discussing calling Grandpa Tom to wish him a happy birthday. Joe kept saying what sounded like "We'll see if we can range him." Huh? Then, Julie remembered that the last time we called the Grandparents Trump, she'd told Joe that we'd see if we could raise them.
