Blue water

One of Ted and Joe's standard activities on a Saturday morning is cleaning the bathroom. We do it right when Joe wakes up before breakfast, partly as a way to time breakfast for when Julie and Clara are ready to eat, and partly to get it out of the way. This only works because Joe loves to clean the toilet. He stands in the bathroom holding the toilet wand and will say something like...

"Oh! Daddy! We are going to turn the water blue. And a little green. And I'm going to swish it around. I will put on my glove. You want to share with me? Here. Have a glove. I will take my glove off so I can clean better. The toilet is dirty. So I will clean it...."

He does this while Ted cleans the sink and mirror, then he is given the brushing part for his wand and he dives right in. He has gotten good at scrubbing all the parts and not getting anything else wet. After the toilet we get at the tub where Joe helps scrub a little, but it's toilet cleaning that is his signature strength. Hopefully he will turn this energy into using the toilet for its intended purpose, but we are told we can't rush these things, so we will take what we can get - a clean toilet.
