Good Times Never Seemed So Good

Joe Fans. Bird Fans. Lots to report so settle in! It was a big weekend in many ways, not the least of which was because it was Mother's Day! Julie woke with the Bird next to her. Bird had cried out the night before at about 2:30am. As long time readers know, we almost never breach the bambini's bedroom door once they are both behind it for the night. But it sounded like Clara had gotten herself into some terrible pickle--i.e. it sounded like she and her arm had become separated so Julie went in. And found Clara belly down with her butt in the air as usual, simply screaming for all she was worth. Our Hero remained sprawled on his back. So that is how Clara ended up in the big bed.

Once Clara was nursed, the Birds headed downstairs where Joe immediately crowed, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" as soon as Julie came into view. After that, we had waffles and bacon at Julie's request. The day spun out from there with the usual joys and vagaries that mark life with wee ones, especially when they are under the age of three. Near its end, Julie was taken by the whole family on the annual Mother's Day Bookstore trip where she selected two books for herself (one for each child)*, and angled for a third, but failed (but only because Ted was oblivious to her angling, not because he is hard-hearted).

Somehow yesterday, Ted managed to find time to finish editing all of the 2010 video. So we ended the day by watching clips from a few of the months, and the montage of the still shots, the later of which Ted had set to Sweet Caroline. Watching the pictures, and listening to the "good times never seemed so good" bit of the chorus, Julie was a little teary-eyed. Who'd have believed this would all come along?
