The Garden

Courtesy of the Babka Girls, we have on loan a pretty fabulous Little Tikes toy that apparently is no longer made (Laura found it on eBay): the Little Tikes garden, featuring a door (with a doorbell); a mailbox; twirling birds; and cuckooing bird in a cupola of some sort; a radish, onion, and carrot in a garden plot (all havestable); and some flowers. We put it in the corner of the porch where it was an instant hit. Clara had a go at it while Joe was at Target with Ted, but when the boys returned, Joe instantly claimed the garden (as he does everything these days) as "his," and was rather upset when Clara climbed in with him. Julie said that the garden was his and Clara's and that if he couldn't play in it with her, then he didn't have to play in it at all. (Julie decided to leave the Babka Girls' ownership rights out of it.) She wasn't sure if this edict had any effect at all until she returned home with the bambini later that day. Ted was on the porch waiting for us, and Joe promptly informed him that the garden was his, and Clara's, o-kay? (O-kay.)
