Museum day
On Saturday Julie was out of commission and off to get a strep test (negative) at the Clinic , so Ted packed up the bambini and went to the Children's Museum. We had a super fun time due mostly to the fact that Joe put on his listening ears and all were healthy. We started in the new exhibit called Story Land where they have little vignettes of various popular children's books (Chicka Chicka, Spot, Snowy Day, and Give a Mouse a Cookie were the ones we knew well). Joe had a lot of fun with the Letter Elevator at Chicka Chicka, and even teamed up with a museum docent for a while concentrating on matching the uppercase letter cards and putting them on the lowercase letter track moving up the tree. Clara tried pushing the buttons but had more fun crawling on top of the exhibit. Another highlight was discovering the snowman materials in Snowy Day. Joe figured the main part out and then Ted helped him with the arms and hat (Clara also walked around with this beret looking thing for a while). We also explored the bus (Joe made sure it would not be moving first) and the grocery store where Joe was the cashier and Ted and Clara brought groceries to the checkout. Lastly we explored the Marsh. Joe climbed into a shell to become a turtle so of course Clara wanted to try as well, but she climbed in through the head hole - it helps being small! Before we knew it it was time to head home - and all followed Ted out the doors without a single whine - which makes a Dad very happy!
