Sick Day | Part 5, or Raleigh Rides Again

Our Hero awoke from his nap late in the afternoon, woozy, sweaty, and asking after Ted's whereabouts. Once reassured that Daddy would be returning home on the city bus after Joe and Mommy went to pick up Baby Clara Jane, Our Hero was up and at 'em. He had some cheese and crackers, and more "special apple juice" (Pedialyte), and thus fortified, we were off. We arrived home just as Ted was, and it's a good thing, because it meant all hands were on deck when we discovered the smashed container of Clara's infant cereal in the living room with its contents strewn all about, by one Raleigh Roo Ribbons Ekkers I, pictured here in all his shaggy and guilty glory. Really? Really? Really. He apparently did not get the memo that stated the Fun Parade did not include a confetti component. But you know, the floor needed a vacuum and mop in the wake of the stamping and beeping, and Play Doh-ing. Joe watched Julie do all of this while Ted took Clara upstairs (Joe is no longer afraid of the vacuum, but will note that it is loud).

Of course, Joe wanted to stamp immediately after the floors had been cleaned. The Fun Parade commenced again. Julie had to step aside as its Grand Marshall in order to nurse Clara. She quickly briefed Ted on the aforeposted stamp 'n' beep rules, but she later learned, our Hero was on it: Ted reports that when he sat on the couch, Joe looked at him and told him to get down on the floor because he "didn't want to get the couch all messy." Good boy.
