Today, Julie and Clara made their way across the river for their weekly ladies lunch with Kendra. The heat and humidity broke earlier this week so we sat out on the veranda (sounds more ladies lunch-y than patio) at Punch (pizza, for the non-locals or unfamiliar). After that, Clara went inside Mitchell so Julie could nurse her in Julie's office where they met still more of Julie's colleagues. Here they are in front of Julie's office door which is festooned with Joe's artwork. (Julie's favorite is the penguin with its features every which way all Picasso-like. Difficult to see in this shot, but note the absence of facial features on the penguin's face, the beak that has been affixed near the penguin's left foot.
After that, they headed home via the McDonald's so Julie could get a sweet tea and discovered that they now have "snack-sized" (they should have called they treat-sized!) McFlurry's (brilliant!). They are now whiling away the afternoon awaiting Ted's (early!) return from work, and telling the dogs to knock it off. (It's clear they spend the days we are gone barking themselves silly at everything that comes within 20 feet of the house.)
1. I eagerly await Joe's blue period.
ReplyDelete2. Missing Punch. Badly.
3. I think Boo and Roo start the day silly, no barking required.
