Hi Ronald!
This morning the family made the pilgrimage across the mighty Mississippi to the Children's Museum in St. Paul. The walk from the garage to the museum is via one block of skyway where one passes a McDonald's and a bench with a life size statue of Ronald McDonald waiting for a photo op. We are guessing the pictured assault on Ronald will become a rite of passage for any future trip to the museum. Joe had been to the museum just a couple months ago, so a lot of it was familiar to him. He took after the letters in the Chicka Chicka letter escalator exhibit and then built himself a snowman in the Snowy Day exhibit with Clara on his heels grabbing letters and snowballs. We then went to the City Life exhibit (or whatever it's called) and drove the bus, delivered letters, sat in the dog house (not the punishment it sounds like), played with blocks and shopped in the grocery store. After a raisin break on the window sill, Joe and Ted departed for Earth World where Joe played in the river and crawled around the ant colony. Meanwhile the Birds took in story time in the lobby, which was the right speed for both of them as they are each suffering from lingering colds (can you spot them in the picture?). Museum fun was followed by a treat for everyone...lunch out at My Burger. All had cheeseburgers. Two in our party ate quietly savoring the comfort food and two tried eating ketchup with a spoon.

That's a very big copy of The Snowy Day being read to you in the lobby! Love the little ruffles on Clara's jacket :)
ReplyDeleteAren't they fab? That is a Julia or Josie hand-me-down that Clara just began sporting. (The rather darling shirt she is wearing in today's post--with the Peter Pan collar?--is another.) To date, she has sported this white velour track suit only on the weekends, for perhaps obvious reasons. When she first put it on, she wanted the hood up (because that's what hoods do, obviously). She looked like a little prize fighter. :)
