Bedtime Stories*

Now that Clara is weaned, the Birds read stories on the porch, or the club chair in the living room. (For readers familiar with the lay of the land at Raleigh House, Julie moved the bulk of the upstairs children's books to the porch, and the lowermost shelf of the bookcase just to the right of the club chair.) Sometimes, Joe joins the Birds for Clara's bedtime stories. First up tonight was Down By the Cool of the Pool. The theme in Clara's room this month is water, and earlier this week, they apparently read a book about a frog in which Clara pointed to the frog on every page. So we have a frog theme going at home. Clara also likes books with a beat, so Julie thought she might like be-bopping along to this one, and indeed, she did!
