Today dawned cold, gray, and rainy here in Minneapolis and while this was sad in many ways, it was cause for celebration in at least one--the conditions provided an excuse to break out the umbrella. Keen-eyed observers will note that this particular umbrella has a J on it. Julie has had it for a long time and never used it, not being an umbrella sort of girl (they are always poking one in the head, not big enough or too entirely too big--and thus not big enough to share or too big for one, blowing this way and that. . .), but this morning, she raced upstairs at the final push out the door to get it to present to Our Intrepid Hero, who, upon seeing it unfurled said, "I want that." He took it, and held on to it, even though the wind (and Our Hero is not one for wind) all the way to car. Once in the car, we sang "It's Raining, It's Pouring"--a few times.
