One of the "painting play dates" was also a "princess play date": Birdie had two of the girls with whom she pretends to be princesses at school over to go to the park, Daphne and Silvia. After Daphne and Silvia saw Clara's purple room (and squealed over it), the princesses and their entourage headed over to the park. That was fun, but the highlight of the play date probably happened on the way home when the girls happened upon the fairy garden that one of our neighbors has put very near to the sidewalk, probably just for little ones who might happen by. Hers is primarily in a bird bath, but encompasses the base of a nearby tree as well. The princess were enchanted--and enchanting, it probably goes without saying.
