So there we were on a perfect Sunday Memorial Day weekend morning with the thought we'd take ourselves off to a splash pool. Last summer, when Joe was just starting to learn to walk, we didn't feel confident about taking him to a wet place with lots of other older toddlers dashing about so we were pretty excited to explore these things this summer. So off we went! We went to the spot where we thought the splash pad was. No splash pad.** Off we went to another park where Julie thought she had remembered reading it might be. No dice. So we decided we might as well check out the pool at the Rec Center. (By this time, Joe has fallen asleep thinking, "Wake me when we get somewhere.") the Red Center: also closed. Seriously? Is Memorial Day or is it not the official start of summer and the time for tennis whites and lemonade and the like? It is. It. Is.
**As it turns out, Elise and Charlotte's handlers confirm we were in the right spot, but the pad was apparently not in operation yet.
Love the mock tutle swimshirt, brother. You're rockin' the summer look something solid.
ReplyDeleteThe swimshirt is correctly called a rash guard. You know, for surfing the ocean waves of MN.
